How to Break Up With Bad Habits

We all have wanted to or thought about breaking up with a habit. For me, it was sugar, then coffee and now working on another one which I will talk about in the future. Breaking up with habits is difficult when you create a lifestyle that includes that habit. At first, it was finding a tea that tasted a bit like coffee, then it was changing my Starbucks/Coffee Bean order to be a tea instead of a coffee and last but not least changing my morning routine to include a tea brewing process.

Break Up With Habits

These changes didn’t happen overnight and there are still days I would love to have another coffee but I remember my WHY and my commitment to myself and I am easily able to shift myself out of that thought process and enjoy a delicious tea.

I interviewed author Sarah Ordo about her journey to sobriety as that is one thing I would love to accomplish in my life at some point. I also was so impressed with her ability to stick to her habit changes because they included letting go of friends, weekend parties and more. The fact she wrote a book on it beyond impressed me so I had to bring her on the show to dive into her headspace and understand how she was able to step away from alcohol for good.

Sarah Ordo Author

My name is Sarah Ordo and I am your not-so-typical Millennial Female residing in the suburbs of Detroit. I am a Makeup Artist, Youtuber, Entrepreneur, Self-Published Author, Blogger, Dog mom, Carb Lover, and so on, and so on.
I always had the desire to leave my own mark and make my own path in life, which led to my earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood only to turn around and start my On Location Hair & Makeup Business a month later and leave teaching to follow my love for the beauty industry! I started 24Luxe Hair & Makeup in 2014, which is an on-location beauty team services weddings and events, which is now an award winning company.
I had always been your typical party girl. I had been drinking since the age of about 13 or 14 years old, and I was blacking out every weekend regularly. To sum it up, I spent over a decade of my life slamming back shots, recreationally using drugs, having little no self worth, and covering it all up with my perfect hair and makeup and shining smile. I wanted people to always think that everything in my life was fun, glamorous, and perfect.
Everything changed for me in May of 2015 when I drank and pilled myself into the Emergency Room in a Detroit hospital and almost didn’t walk out of it alive. It took me waking up in a hospital to finally realize it was time to change my life. From that day forward I started my new sober life. It took a lot of therapy, a lot of Church, a lot of self work, and completely rebuilding my life from the ground up.
Along the way I started my blog as a way to begin reaching out to share my story and connect with others. After having a very vivid dream where I found my own laying faced down on the floor, I began writing Sober as F***, my first self-published book. I released Sober as F*** on the anniversary of my 2 years of sobriety, and connections and the reactions I have received from the book so far have been life-changing. I am now working on my second book talking all about finding true inner happiness within yourself and in your life (due to be released by the 2017 Holiday season).
I have just purchased my name as a new website and am planning on creating a central blog/website location to bring all of my followers together! I want to feature my blog, my Youtube videos, my books, and everything all in one place to create a community for women to come together!
