Happy Friday! Unfortunately, I am not posting with a Fit Friends Friday as I have been terribly busy and my little Shih has been very sick..
I was supposed to go to Cardio Barre this am with my friends and was so excited to post about it but when your little angel fur baby is sick, that becomes the most important thing! Change of plans, but that is ok, life is never the way you expect it to be. Sometimes you just have to roll with it..
I had my BIG photo shoot on Wednesday and things went really well..
I spent a lot of time reading up on how fitness models get there muscles to pop out a bit more for a photo shoot and competition. Since I am new to that realm I was really surprised at how they get that “POP” effect.
Things Fitness Models Do Day of Shoot
- Carb LOAD
- No Water/Liquids
- 5-8oz. Red Wine 20-30 minutes Pre Shoot (Arnold Sschwarzenegger does this)
- Waffles for breakfast with syrup (YUMMM)
- No Fruit for 1-3 days pre shoot
- NO CARBS until 3 days prior
- Rice Cakes with Fruit Jam All Day on Day of Shoot
- Loads of SUGAR filled candy night before
- Protein Bars all Day on Day of Shoot
- many more I may have not found..
One of my favorite bloggers, Laura @ Sprint2theTable, just competed in a figure competition so reading her journey, what she ate and her workouts really made me want to compete post baby. Before her competition, she had a Cliff Gel so I tried finding that near me but could not so Rice Cakes + Jam it was…(Jam was not photographed, I literally slapped it on and it was DEVOURED)
I did my shoot a few hours after, sipping on water and eating more rice cakes (organic of course 🙂
Vitamins: Multi-vitamin, Vitamin C, Spirulina, Milk Thistle, Omega 3, Folic Acid, + Biotin
After my shoot I decided it was time to GO HAM..
My hubby took me to Yogurtland where they have DAIRY FREE FRO YO and they just happened to have CHOCOLATE this day so I was in HEAVEN! I went crazy, my hubby literally looked at me and said “Babe, I have never seen you eat like this” and its true NEVER EVER do I do this because the outcome is an upset stomach, which is never worth it to me. But HEY I guess I was having a YOLO moment…
My weekend will be filled with WEDDING FESTIVITIES + I am looking forward to my best friend starting a NEW chapter in her life with her husband! Photos to follow…

It’s about having FUN + challenging your friends and yourself to a new level. In the blogging community we share recipes, fun activities, workouts + our tips to be well but sharing these tips, advice + especially adventures with friends outside of the community is a positive way for our world to become a HEALTHIER one.
RESEARCH proves having someone to hold you accountable is one of the biggest tools for SUCCESS in your health + wellness journey! Sharing ideas, workouts + recipes with a friend or even INSPIRING them to get on the HEALTH train is motivating to BOTH of you! Call/Text/Email a friend, an old friend, sister, Mom, cousin, Aunt or just ANYONE + make a FIT DATE! You can meet for a juice, a HIKE, a yoga class, a dance class (possibilities are ENDLESS)…
Time to feel the HEALTH buzz TOGETHER..
As a personal trainer, I have had many clients want to bring along a sister, cousin who’s in town for the weekend, mom or friend and I always say YES because all of a sudden my client WORKS hard, stops complaining + ENJOYS the moment and I see them encouraging their counterpart for the day to do the same. It is such a beautiful thing to watch other women motivate other women!
